New public launch date is 9/11/2008; sorry about the delay. An unforeseeable family emergency delayed production.

Work going strong, backend coding in progress.

The current image count is 500. That's 66.67% of the image count we originally had on KneeSlappers.net... holy crap! And that's only what, a week in? We had KneeSlappers running for three years...

We'll be done soon. We SHOULD be done soon.

The backend is still being written. Jesse and I are sometimes butting heads on coding styles and mechanisms but I think we're doing alright. I haven't told him yet, but I'm setting a tentative launch deadline of 9/1/2008. I think a week is more than enough time to get everything up and running.

Just a quick update; everything is going good.

Apache's mod_rewrite is definitely not our friend, though.

In 2001, Jesse and I created KneeSlappers.net, a comedy image site which, at its peak, contained an archive of an unprecedented 750+ images. In 2003, KS.NET fizzled out and the domain was subsequently nabbed by a squatter.

Fast forward to 2008: Jesse and I decided it was time to get things rolling again. Bummed that we couldn't resurrect the original name (the domain is still being squatted), we chose LMFAO.US instead.

Construction started on 8/17/2008 and a beta site should be rolled out in a day or two.
